CARRIE, CR Young | Il Cinema Ritrovato 2024

Il Cinema Ritrovato, a special film festival held each year in Bologna, Italy, marked its 38th year in 2024. It's a place where restored classics and forgotten treasures from film history are brought to life.

A part of the festival is Il Cinema Ritrovato Young, which gathers young film enthusiasts aged 16 to 20. These young people share their own thoughts about movies and act as ambassadors, introducing films that their peers might not know.

At the 2024 festival, I had the honor of working with Il Cinema Ritrovato Young to create videos that introduced the films being shown. This project was commissioned by the Cinematheque of Bologna, and one video focused on the screening and review of Brian de Palma's "Carrie" (USA/1976).

CR Young and Il Cinema Ritrovato

Every summer, during the prestigious film festival ‘Il Cinema Ritrovato’, a group of young cinephiles, aged between 16 and 20, get together to share their vision of the world of cinema. These ambassadors of the new generation present films that their peers are often unfamiliar with.

This year, the CR Young selected five films from the festival programme linked by the common thread of female representation in cinema. In addition, they had the opportunity to confront and dialogue with important figures from the world of cinema, such as film director Marco Bellocchio, filmmaker Damien Chazelle and well-known film critic Paolo Mereghetti.

During the Festival del Cinema Ritrovato 2024, I had the good fortune to join an enthusiastic group of young cinephiles and cinephiles. It was an extraordinary and very stimulating experience, as I had the opportunity to work closely with this generation of talents full of energy and passion.

Pier Paolo Pasolini in Folgorazioni figurative

A part of the video "Pier Paolo Pasolini in Folgorazioni Figurative", was directed and filmed by Mohsen Mahmoodzadeh, produced by Ehsan Khoshbakht in collaboration with Bologna Cinematheque and the Municipality of Bologna and edited by Somayeh Haghneghadar.

Folgorazioni figurative is the name of the exhibition held in Bologna, Italy, on the occasion of the 100th anniversary of Pier Paolo Pasolini.

Pier Paolo Pasolini, writer, poet, film director, is one of the most important italian intellectuals.

The Folgorazioni figurative will be held in a fruitful collaboration between the Cineteca di Bologna, the Municipality of Bologna and Alma Mater Studiorum University of Bologna from 1st March to 2nd November.
